Founder Story: SaaSBoard
Featuring: Founder of SaaSBoard
1. The Spark
What was the exact problem or frustration you were trying to solve when you decided to build SaaSBoard?
Traditional SaaS directories are notoriously frustrating as most force builders to wait weeks or even months for approval just to get a basic text listing. I built SaaSBoard out of impatience with that broken queue system. I wanted to create a platform where SaaS founders can submit their product and get featured immediately, skipping the launch delays so they can start driving real traffic and building momentum from day one.
2. The Solution & The Build
What is the core feature of SaaSBoard that solves this problem, and what design choice did you personally spend the most time obsessing over?
SaaSBoard solves the distribution problem with a clean, highly visual grid layout. Instead of letting software get buried in infinite text lists, I designed a visual wall where products stand out through their logos. I spent the most time refining the grid's scarcity by deliberately capping available slots so that every listed startup gets prime real estate without getting drowned out by thousands of submissions.
3. The Reality Check
What has been the most surprising piece of user feedback or unexpected hurdle you have had to navigate since launching SaaSBoard?
The biggest hurdle has undoubtedly been marketing and distribution. Building the directory was only half the battle; getting high-intent, targeted traffic onto the grid so that listed founders see genuine conversions is a continuous challenge. Learning how to cut through the noise, make the platform stand out, and consistently route the right visitors to the right SaaS tools has been the biggest challenge for me.
4. Behind the Scenes
As a builder in this space, what is one tool or habit in your daily workflow that you genuinely couldn't live without?
I genuinely couldn't ship at this speed without the combination of Lovable and Supabase. Lovable allows me to rapidly prototype, refine UI, and push full-stack updates in minutes, while Supabase effortlessly manages our database, authentication, and edge functions in the background. Together, they handle virtually all of SaaSBoard's technical heavy lifting, letting me focus entirely on growth and user experience.
5. The Future & Where to Find It
What is the next big milestone or feature you are working on for SaaSBoard, and where can people go to try it out?
Our next big focus is adding smart categories and tags so visitors can filter tools instantly, along with transparent analytics so founders can track exact referral clicks. In the long term, I will be exploring strategic partnerships with other platforms to offer bonus perks for listed tools, like video reviews.
